Let me introduce you to one of my good friend, @anatawa. Last weekend we celebrate her hen’s party. Cant believe she’s getting married! 💕💃🏻⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣I knew her because she was my Airbnb host back then 2017 in Bali. She was soooo nice and friendly. Didn’t expect we become close after that. Take me for awhile to mingle with new people or group. I admiring her story how did she start her career and own business, guest house. She’s smart, pretty, creative, and practical. Her determination and effort shows how hard and detail she is. I kinda related because we also have same issue start everything from zero. Literally zero. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣What I learn from her; if you set your goal, knowing what you want, you’ll get it. No matter what and how struggle it was. We don’t have sugar daddy to get our dreams come true. We become our own sugar mommy for ourselves. Then she became Art Director in one of big digital agency in Singapore for about 10 years. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣It’s important to have inspiring friends around you. Not for jealousy or feel intimidating but to motivate to set your goal and dreams. Nothing wrong with dreaming unless you just let it be dreams without work on it. I learn so muucchh from you, sist. I never show you my imperfection face. But here we go #StoryOfMylife. Last night I was screening my followers and this account caught my eyes, I was silent. I feel connected. Her bio was written: STOP CALL ME FAT. I know I AM! ⁣

How society somehow so mean to people who’s not as pretty as advertorial? People are easier to judge and say bad things to other without second thoughts. Stop contribute to people misery. Why I say that? Because it makes them stop give theirselves the love they deserve. Those who do not live according to beauty standards nowadays, are forced to think it’s their fault that they are too fat or too skinny or too dark. They desperate of feel accepted. How successfully beauty ads selling female consumer “hope in a jar”. Beauty ads has traditionally been one of the worst offenders for embellishing reality & selling women idealised and restrictive forms of perfection. They shaping the definition of beauty into young, thin, white, flawless models. How to achieve instant beauty, not to mention beauty plus apps (Ops!). All women obsessed to look as good as the ads. In reality, not all of us born with it. ⁣
⁣
The reason I started blogging bcoz I have imperfection. I used to be dull, acne prone, etc. I also got bullied from my colleagues, high school friends just because I’m not white, have acne. Don’t you know how struggle for people who having fluctuate hormonal changing? Don’t you know they really try to fix it? From that moment I’ve been trying all skincare. My face and my life are not that perfect like my feed. Sometimes this happen. But this is me. I’m not too different with anybody else. I have acnes, pimples, but I embrace it. I’m not try to cover it. What makes me different is my personality. 😊 ⁣

Now, the definition of beauty is shifting and no longer feel relevant in the modern age. Primarily some of you still aspired to look like models and celebrities, especially social media era.⁣

Accepting of my flaws to valuing myself. ⁣

Dulu waktu kecil suka banget mainan makeup. Iseng pakai makeup, main salon salon an sama temen. Beli eyeshadow ala ala, pakai lipstick dan segala hal soal beauty lainnya. I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth 🥄🥄 🥄, growing up without one either...⁣⁣I was forced to grow up before my age without a dad’s figure as he passed away when I was in my mom’s tummy. Moved out from our comfort zone after 17 years and trying to figure things out. It's been 2 years living out the city where I was born, I lived, and grew up. ⁣⁣⁣⁣Now that I have some maturity to understand things around, i think it’s safe to say that I’m happy with my life at the very moment... ⁣⁣⁣⁣I’ve been learning things in life by experiencing and experimenting it in my own way. A little reminder, I'm so thankful for the amazing support system in my life 💗 As we are grow up, I realize quality is more important than quantity when it comes to friendship. Because friends are family that we choose and we are considered lucky when we can say someone is a true friend. In 2001, I get my first 'serious' job in this building, as an online reporter for @gadismagz . I'm still as college student that time. Then, I write for another magazine, Seventeen Indonesia and Cita Cinta, and off course on Gadis magazine too

In this building, I learn lots about magazine, online, journalistic things and friendship for 4 Years
.
I'm happy I can meet and learn from the best people / mentors in Gadis magazine such as Mba @tenikhartono , mba @hippy_yeay and Mas @adibhidayat . Suwuuun :)
.
I get lots of networking from my time in here. No wonder untill now if I meet some of my old friends, they put my name as Titaz Gadis on their phonebook :)

I also get lots experiences, that shapes to be better version of me
